Ian serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Attensity. In a career spanning over 28 years, Ian has built a strong reputation for driving corporate value and operational growth. After founding and ultimately selling many technology companies, Ian led the independent channel infrastructure and organization for IBM. Over the next 11 years, Ian became IBM’s most visible promoter of software partner initiatives in his roles as Vice President and then General Manager of Partner Programs, overseeing channel revenue growth from $200 million to over $3 billion. He was also appointed to the IBM Senior Management Group in 1998. Since leaving IBM in 2001, he has been CEO of such high-growth companies as Terraspring Software (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Sistina Software(acquired by Redhat Software), Xerox PARC spin-off Inxight Software (which became a wholly owned subsidiary of Business Objects in 2007 and is now owned by SAP), and most recently, ColdSpark, a leading provider of enterprise solutions and platforms of email processing and delivery. Ian holds both a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa) and he is a graduate of the IBM Executive Management Program at the Indiana Graduate School of Business
To his role as Attensity CTO Ian brings more than 20 years of experience delivering innovative research technology into the commercial mainstream. Ian is responsible for providing the technical and strategic product vision to complement the company’s business vision, setting the tone and direction for Attensity’s technologies and business applications. Prior to Attensity, Ian was vice president of technology development and strategy at Business Objects, an SAP company. He came to Business Objects through its acquisition of Inxight Software. As co-founder of Inxight, Ian led the definition and development of what became the industry’s broadest text analysis platform; he also held senior product management and engineering management roles at Logos Corporation and Inso Corporation. Ian began his commercial career at IBM as a computational linguist.
Mike leads our financial management, planning, administrative, and accounting activities in the Americas. He has more than 30 years of finance and accounting experience across a broad cross-section of industries. Prior to Attensity, Mike was a consultant and served as Interim CFO of BakBone Software in San Diego where he helped lead the financial team through a complex restatement and SEC filing process and worked on installing new systems and processes strengthening internal controls. Previously, Mike was Vice President of Finance and Administration for Inxight Software, Inc. which was acquired by Business Objects. At Inxight, he helped lead the organization through a recapitalization of the business in 2005 and achieving significant cost improvements during a rapid revenue growth period. A respected manager and executive, Mike has held senior finance and management positions with Terraspring (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Cooke Pharma (acquired by United Therapeutics), Siemens Telegyr Systems, CBR, and ITT. Mike has also worked with entrepreneurs that founded two start-up technology companies in homeland and network security and provided consultative services in mergers and acquisitions for three acquisitions completed by Keynote Systems. Mike is a licensed CPA and a graduate of the University of Central Florida, in Orlando. He is a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs, California Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Herzl leads product development globally for Attensity. He started as a developer for Sperry Univac and then moved to Canada to head up professional services for Computer Sciences Corporation. He successfully started and managed several software development organizations during his 39 years in the computer industry including Datanetics, DM3 and ISA. In 1989 he founded Optima to develop and maintain the FX technology sold to and used by CCH Computax for tax return processing. After and prior to joining Attensity he was the CEO and Chairman of Interactive Advisory Software, a unified wealth management solution with core modules in CRM, Portfolio Management, Financial Planning, Document Management, Portal Management, Data Aggregation, Practice Management and Workflow. His strong technical background is well complemented with general management skills, as well as an understanding of the market dynamics and user requirements in a solution oriented market place. Herzl received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the Witwatersrand Institute of Technology in conjunction with the University of the Witwatersrand and attended the MBA program at the University of Cape Town.
Jeff leads the company’s sales operations and brings to Attensity over 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the software industry. In his role, Jeff is responsible for driving all sales initiatives, presales, channel development and directing Attensity’s growing sales force toward continued sales growth of the company’s expanding enterprise-class product portfolio. Jeff joined Attensity from Business Signatures, acquired by Entrust in 2006, a Silicon Valley start-up which pioneered business solutions that prevent online fraud and provide a reliable online customer experience. Prior, Jeff was VP of Sales at Tealeaf Technology and Luminate Corporation. At Luminate Jeff led worldwide sales and was also responsible for worldwide sales operations, professional services and field marketing. Prior to Luminate, Jeff was Vice President of Sales at Poet Software, and he has led sales teams at Lotus Development, Oracle and Wang Laboratories. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University.
Thomas Dreikauss is responsible for managing the Business Development of Attensity to meet the company’s growth objectives in Germany. He brings more than 16 years of sales management and marketing experience with enterprise software solutions at both, start-up and public companies. He has a demonstrated track record of successfully building teams and helping companies grow their business even under toughest circumstances. One of the major milestones in Thomas’s career was his position as EMEA Director of Sales and Managing Director at Inxight Software, the leading provider of software solutions for unstructured information discovery. For more than 5 years he was responsible for all sales and marketing activities of the Enterprise, Federal Government and OEM Business. This Xerox PARC spin-off became a wholly owned subsidiary of Business Objects in 2007 and is now owned by SAP. Thomas was then significantly involved in the integration of Inxight in to Business Objects and SAP in Europe. He also has leadership and management experience with technology and media companies including ParcPlace Systems, ObjectShare, Valtech and nexx.tv. Thomas holds a degree as Technical Engineer for Telecommunications from German T-Com.
Russell Prince-Wright is responsible for managing Attensity’s business in the UK and Nordic region. Russell brings over twenty years of sales, marketing and managerial experience in representing companies offering enterprise software and services solutions to major multinational organisations in Europe. Having successfully established European operations for five international software vendors, Russell has a proven track record of growing businesses from start up to critical mass and generating revenues through developing direct sales organisations as well as channel partners. The combination of Russell’s commercial experience together with a sound technical foundation gives him that rare balance of skills which imparts credibility and inspires confidence in people at all levels within a client organisation. Prior to Attensity Russell led operations in Europe for Inxight Software Inc, where he grew the organisation, over four years, to three offices with twenty four people spread across the UK, Germany, and Benelux. In addition, Russell was a founding partner for UK start-up company (VFC), specialising in Knowledge Management and the early adoption of Object-Oriented development techniques, the company grew from 6 persons to 40 in the space of 2 years. Throughout his career, Russell has achieved many large enterprise software sales exceeding seven figures, through both new business development and efficient account management. Russell’s extensive involvement in building startup organisations has required an entrepreneurial attitude and a broad range of skills. Russell obtained a BSc(Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from London’s City University and he is also a qualified Chartered Engineer.
Catherine brings more than 15 years of experience thriving on the passion and intensity of technology startups and rollups. Prior to Attensity, Catherine was VP of Marketing for the Block Shield family of companies, where she defined and implemented new positioning, product, and branding strategies in support of company restructuring and acquisition of technology assets. Previously, Catherine was Director of Marketing at Business Objects, an SAP company. She came to Business Objects through its acquisition of Inxight Software, where she led product management and assisted in the repositioning of the company as “going beyond Google”. Catherine has also held product management and marketing roles at a variety of technology companies, including Butterfly Security, Kovair (CRM), iSyndicate (internet media), and Metcal (electronics manufacturing). Catherine holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in English from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands. She is a true California native who enjoys working hard, but also enjoys playing hard in trail, surf, and snow.
Michelle leads the corporate development efforts at Attensity working with strategic partners to expand the Attensity business. Michelle came to Attensity from Adspace Networks, where as vice president of marketing and product management she developed programs that helped to more than double the company’s revenue in just six months and ultimately led to the company’s acquisition by Clarity Visual Systems. Michelle oversaw product management, strategic acquisitions, and sales to consumer enterprises at Blue Martini Software where she led the development of Blue Martini’s eCommerce, Campaign Management and Business Intelligence applications. Previously, Michelle led the eCommerce and database marketing teams at Levi Strauss & Company and worked at Ernst & Young as a CRM practice manager serving large enterprise clients. Michelle graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.S. degree in management operations and marketing. She holds an M.S. degree in integrated marketing from Northwestern University. Michelle spends her free time with her three very active sons.
Rebecca leads Attensity’s marketing efforts in North America, drawing on more than fifteen years of experience in marketing management with high-growth companies in the enterprise software industry. Before joining Attensity, Rebecca helped launch and served as Marketing Director for Mumboe, a SaaS company based in Austin, Texas that uses linguistics technology to help companies manage their business agreements. Prior to that, she was Director of Marketing at Motive, a customer experience management (CEM) software provider for the broadband mobile service providers. Earlier in her career, she worked in marketing management at Clarify (now owned by Amdocs), where she helped position the company as an early CRM leader. In addition to her full-time roles, Rebecca has worked as an independent consultant helping dozens of startups and established companies develop their positioning, messaging and go to market strategies for new company and product launches, both in Silicon Valley and in Austin, Texas. In her free time, Rebecca likes to spend time with her three rescued dogs and is an avid golfer.
Lisa runs Human Resources worldwide for Attensity Group. She is a seasoned Human Resources executive with over 12 years of organizational development, management and leadership experience. Lisa comes to Attensity from Inxight Software where she was Vice President of Human Resources. Previously, she led numerous U.S. start-ups through rapid growth by creating strong and nimble organizations, including, most notably, Sistina Software which was acquired by Red Hat in 2003 and Provation Medical, which became a Wolters Kluwer company. Lisa started her career as a consultant with Hertel & Murray, a premier boutique consulting firm delivering Human Resources and Organizational Development consulting to multi-national high-tech and manufacturing companies. Lisa received a B.A. in psychology from St. Norbert College and an MS in Management and Organizational Behavior from Silver Lake College. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
