Product Manager – Content Acquisition

Location:

Palo Alto, CA or Salt Lake City, UT

We’re looking for a dynamic Content Product Manager who will be in charge of all of our content acquisition activities across our suite of enterprise applications.

You’ll own and drive our content acquisition strategy, evaluate and negotiate licensing deals with content providers and aggregators, prioritize and manage the development of content connectors, develop pricing models for premium content, and manage our in-house and outsourced content acquisition teams.

Requirements of the Position

  • Definition of Product(s) via thorough understanding of the business opportunity and clear, concise and thorough articulation of the product requirements that enable a competitive and profitable market opportunity
  • Ensure product definition and product life-cycle roadmap support the business drivers (i.e., revenue, audience, cost savings, strategic value)
  • Identification, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of content sources used for Content aggregation, selection and management of aggregated and other content
  • Product Evolution – Create product road-map based upon aggregation of stakeholder needs and market/trend analysis.  This would include working in close collaboration with other internal stakeholders and evaluating other products considered best-in-class category and understanding trends in how they influence the value of the site.  Including content, features/functions, social media, traffic generation etc.
  • Product Performance Ownership – Understand, evaluate and proactively pursue opportunities to improve product performance
  • Create concise product documents including, PRDx, PRD, P&L, business cases to justify (ROI) investments and provide insight into making tradeoff decisions
  • Identify, evaluate and work collaboratively with vendors/partners ensuring optimal delivery and service levels are achieved
  • Foster effective team work by proactively sharing information and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders including:  project management, development, sales, and finance timely delivery of opportunities from idea through to revenue recognition
  • Quantify, track and regularly reporting on KPI metrics to goal(s)

Qualifications

  • A minimum three to five years experience in a creation of digital media products
  • Minimum three years within some combination of the following: content aggregation, web publishing or social media product management
  • Proven ability to think strategically about market needs, business impact, and product design
  • Strong contract negotiation skills with both aggregators and primary providers
  • Experience with web crawling, RSS, and other content acquisition tools a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  •  Strong written and verbal skills
  • Self starter with ability to work independently and take initiative

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent experience

Support Engineer (Level I)

Location:

Palo Alto, CA

This role is responsible for providing real-time technical support to customers, partners and internal personnel relating to Attensity products and services.

Requirements of the Position

  • Provide diagnostic support via web, email and telephone to Attensity customers, partners and internal personnel for Attensity enterprise Unstructured Data Management products
  • Coordinate with product development and account management to address escalated customer concerns
  • Provide product feedback to Attensity Product Management
  • Document and manage reported technical support issues in CRM system
  • Manage customer communication, assuring timely status updates and issue resolution
  • Develop and document enterprise knowledge in the form of case notes, technical articles, and best practices
  • Responsible for distribution of software and licensing to Attensity customers, partners and internal personnel

Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills are essential
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, motivated self starter; able to work independently
  • Experience working directly with enterprise level customers in a high-tech, service-related role

Account Executive (Enterprise Software)

Technical Consultant

Location:

Requirements of the Position:

  • Strong written and verbal English skills
  • Responsibility for ETL creation (design, scripting, databases, extractions) for new Attensity implementations.
    • ETL can be defined as having sufficient technical skills to take source data, manipulate the data according to specific guidelines via scripting/SQL/ETL tools into a new format/location.
  • Co-ordinate the setup of Attensity software installations and upgrades at customer sites.
  • RDBMS management and configuration experience.
    • Experience in one of the following DB technologies is required (Oracle 10g+, MS SQL Server 2005+, Teradata v2 R6.1+ MySQL 5+, Vertica 4+)
  • Web Server management & configuration (Tomcat, IIS, J2EE servers) & web browsers
  • Proactively debug and resolve any issues relating to assigned customer implementations. Issues could be related to, but not limited to, data corruption, systems scheduling, ETL workflows, application software administration and recurring data load failure due to load code or data format changes

Skills:

  • Experience in one of the following DB technologies is required (Oracle 10g+, MS SQL Server 2005+, Teradata v2 R6.1+ MySQL 5+, Vertica 4+)
  • Demonstrable proficiency in administering Java Application Server based applications in a third party hosted environment
  • Expertise in ETL tools. ETL can be defined as having sufficient technical skills to take source data, manipulate the data according to specific guidelines via scripting/SQL/ETL tools into a new format/location. Having experience with off the shelf ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS, Pentaho, etc.) or any of the following technologies are strong pluses; SQL, Java, PERL, Regular Expressions, Batch, Shell, etc. and being able to debug issues related to the ETL process. Resolution will require actual coding with these technologies.
  • Ability to communicate with Attensity business as well as technical customers to understand and resolve their issues

Sales Engineer

Requirements of the Position

  • Partner with Account Executive to devise strategy to drive license, maintenance, and services revenue in the customer and prospect base
  • Responsible for leading and closing the technical sale

    • Fully comprehend and understand the customer’s business plan
    • Work collaboratively with the Account Executive to lead the development of the technical sales strategy

Knowledge Engineer

Description:

  • Work closely with Attensity Business Analysts and customers to identify and map business processes to Knowledge Engineering and Text Aggregation rules
  • Use internal tools to build and maintain a linguistic knowledge base, which can be used to perform linguistic extractions
  • Create and maintain lists of objects, including; dictionaries, entity rules, typos and phrases
  • Develop text analysis expertise and contribute to Attensity’s Center of Excellent (COE)

Qualifications:

Business Analyst
