Press ReleaseAttensity Helps Hill Air Force Base Use Unstructured Data to Reduce Costs and Improve Reliability of Air Combat and Logistics EquipmentContract Latest in Series of Government Customer Wins for Attensity Text Analytics SuitePalo Alto, Calif. - March 6, 2006 - Attensity, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today announced that it was awarded a contract with Aerospace Engineering Spectrum (AES) and identified as a vendor in an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multi-award contract that AES received. AES is a Utah-based joint venture consortium (JVC) providing product and process improvement solutions for Hill Air Force Base (HAFB). Attensity has teamed with AES to interface with HAFB's Defense Repair Information Logistics System (DRILS), a specialized web-based application for collection and retrieval of Air Force serialized repair information. Attensity's software will be used in conjunction with DRILS to extract unstructured, text-based information stored in various USAF legacy databases. By fusing this unstructured content with existing structured data, HAFB will be able to capture critical details on defective or faulty aircraft components faster and more effectively. Attensity's Text Analytics solution will initially be used in the A-10 and F-16 Avionics repair shops to help detect and analyze repair text to enhance maintenance. "Extracting serialized historical repair data from legacy systems' text is helpful to identify cost and reliability trends," said Tony Pombo, president of Total Quality Systems (TQS), part of the AES JVC that is working closely with Attensity. "We must improve Air Force equipment reliability and reduce maintenance cost in order to enhance weapon system readiness. We believe that Attensity's Text Analytics interfaced with DRILS will enable us to deliver actionable information to the supply chain managers at Hill." "The contract with HAFB follows a number of Attensity deployments within the intelligence community and is a natural extension of our work within the logistics and manufacturing verticals, areas where we have already seen a great deal of success within our commercial division," said Craig Norris, CEO of Attensity. Organizations such as HAFB spend heavily on maintaining and tracking parts for servicing, repairing and overhauling air combat and logistics equipment. HAFB is responsible for Air Force-wide item management as well as depot-level overhaul and repair of all types of landing gear, aircraft wheels, brakes and tires. The center also manages logistics for all conventional air munitions, solid propellants and explosive devices used throughout the Air Force. Attensity's patented software is the only solution available that automatically extracts valuable pieces of data from free-form text and fuses it with structured content, enabling government and commercial organizations to see and respond to critical issues or events that historically have been very difficult to detect and analyze. In addition to featuring the industry's most advanced information investigation and discovery technology, Attensity's Text Analytics solution is the most tailored solution available for organizations involved in government intelligence, government logistics, law enforcement and defense.
