Text Analytics Pioneer, Attensity, to Present "Unlocking the Secrets of Unstructured Data" at i2 National User Conference 2008

Focus is on Customer Applications of Attensity's Law Enforcement Analyst Desktop Solution

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 6, 2008 - Attensity™, the leader in text analytics software for First Person Intelligence™, today revealed details of its participation in one of the industry's preeminent events: the i2 National User Conference 2008, in Arlington, Virginia, May 13-15. Speakers feature leaders and innovators within the intelligence analysis industry. Colonel Carl R. Baker (Retired) of the Chesterfield County Police Department (CCPD), and Mike Lewis, Attensity's Vice President of Government Systems, will share their insights and real-world case studies and applications involving Attensity's Law Enforcement Analyst Desktop Solution (LEADS). Attensity will also exhibit its text analytics solutions for increasing customer satisfaction and improving homeland security.

Baker and Lewis will speak on "Unlocking the Secrets of Unstructured Data" on Wednesday, May 14. Their presentation will highlight how unstructured data in case files like police reports, transcripts and interviews can be transformed into useful, actionable information, where analysts can search for, analyze and categorize vast amounts of case data, without having to manually code and organize it. By automating these typically manual processes, Attensity LEADS accelerates the ability to follow leads, make arrests and close cases.

"I'm thrilled to be speaking again at this year's i2 National User Conference. It's a great opportunity for us to share what we are seeing in the industry and provide real-world success stories from our customers' experiences with Attensity's innovative software," said Mike Lewis. "I especially look forward to sharing this presentation with Colonel Baker, as he can provide attendees with first-hand experiences in using Attensity's LEADS solution with the CCPD. His invaluable insights into how the solution enables law enforcement and intelligence agents to access, analyze and organize data from case files will give attendees a focused and valuable perspective."

The presentation will explore how various law enforcement customers, such as the CCPD, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, and others have used the Attensity's LEADS solution to analyze the unstructured information stored in police reports, FBI reports, interaction logs, legal or case documents, and public information. They will discuss how these organizations use the integrated i2 and Attensity LEADS solution to investigate relationships (between terms, issues, criminals and suspects) visually, semantically or by event, to drive more rapid resolution to open cases.

"Using LEADS, investigators now have the power to quickly find previously unknown events, facts and relationships, hidden in unstructured text. This enables the department to more quickly and efficiently thwart crime and close cases," said Colonel Baker. "Many people aren't aware of what a difference this technology can truly make. When speaking about text analytics solutions, you can only say so much... providing customer success stories and real examples of how this technology is being used, is what truly makes an impact. I'm excited to share my experiences with Attensity's technology at the CCPD with conference attendees."

The i2 National User Conference is the premier event for customers in the law enforcement, government, military, intelligence and commercial organizations, focusing on the latest trends and developments in investigative and intelligence analysis. More information is at http://conference.i2inc.com/
