Attensity Signs Technology Partner Agreement with Business Objects

Text Analytics Pioneer Joins Technology Alliance to Promote Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Initiative of World Leader in Business Intelligence

PALO ALTO, Calif., and SAN JOSE, Calif. - May 17, 2006 - Attensity, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today announced that it has signed a technology partner agreement with Business Objects, the world leader in business intelligence (BI) software. This partnership facilitates an advanced business intelligence solution for the market that examines both structured and unstructured data, enabling 360-degree analysis for more accurate and informed business decisions.

Attensity becomes an official technology alliance partner of Business Objects in conjunction with the BI leader's recent launch of its Enterprise Information Management (EIM) Initiative. Business Objects EIM is a combination of strategy, practices and open technologies for delivering trusted, integrated and timely information. EIM solutions quickly and flexibly integrate and improve information to provide the most trusted foundation for business decisions. Attensity's Text Analytics solution provides depth to this initiative, enabling Business Objects analytics and solutions to provide a complete picture of business data - not only from structured data, but also from the unstructured text found in everything from customer emails to service notes to surveillance reports.

"We're happy to have Attensity's support of our EIM initiative, and look forward to partnering with them more closely in customer implementations," said Donald MacCormick, vice president of product marketing at Business Objects. "Their Text Analytics software parses vast amounts of unstructured text efficiently and effectively, supporting our quest to deliver ever more accurate, trusted, and comprehensive information to our customers."

Attensity's Text Analytics software will extend the capabilities of Business Objects' leading BI platform by extending the reach of BusinessObjects Data Integrator, which automates data extraction, transformation, and movement of information from diverse data sources. By leveraging Attensity's Text Analytics software for fact recognition, BusinessObjects Data Integrator will be able to include unstructured text as an additional key data source to underpin comprehensive, accurate business reporting and analysis in order to better conduct root-cause analyses and make more informed business decisions.

"We're very pleased to formally acknowledge the business relationship we have had with Business Objects for some time," said Craig D. Norris, CEO of Attensity. "Our partnership allows the full power of Business Objects analytics and solutions to deploy against data that originated as unstructured data in the same way they have delivered solutions on structured data before."

Attensity is already actively working with Business Objects in the field, in customer implementations for both government and commercial markets. The companies are also developing a solution for the manufacturing market. Today's announcement formalizes this existing relationship, which will include a joint demonstration, an integration package and co-selling activities.
