Attensity™ Recognized for Trend-Setting Products by KMWorld Magazine

Company Maintains Trend-Setter Status for Third Consecutive Year

PALO ALTO, Calif. - August 29, 2006 - Attensity™, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today announced that Attensity Text Analytics has been selected as one of KMWorld Magazine's trend-setting products for 2006. This marks the third time in as many years that Attensity has received the esteemed award. The Trend-Setter list appears in the September issue of KMWorld Magazine, the leading information provider serving the knowledge management systems market, as well as online at http://www.kmworld.com/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=18052

"Assembling the list of Trend-Setting Products of 2006 is a year-long collaborative effort with editorial colleagues and analysts and, especially, users," said Hugh McKellar, KMWorld editor in chief. "Roughly 1,500 products from some 300 vendors were considered, and the ones listed here demonstrate exquisite execution designed for, and with input from, the most important constituency of them all – their customers."

The KMWorld editorial staff tapped Attensity as a Trend-Setter for setting the stage for innovation in 2006. This year, Attensity's Text Analytics product suite is highlighted for its lasting market impact.

"We're delighted to extend our winning streak with KMWorld," said Craig Norris, Attensity's chief executive officer. "It's an honor to be recognized as a Trend-Setter for our efforts in enabling government agencies and the Global 2000 to quickly identify and solve serious business problems and security issues previously hidden in unstructured text – through the use of our suite of Text Analytics software applications. We strive to continually deliver innovative, high-value technology solutions to our diverse and growing customer base."

Attensity's unique approach to Text Analytics grasps the context and factual causalities contained in freeform text – everything from e-mails, blogs, field reports, customer surveys, cables, Internet news feeds, service records, warranty claims and a long list of other documents that, in the past, have been difficult to analyze due to inadequate technology. Attensity Text Analytics leverages its patented Exhaustive Extraction™ engine to automatically and rapidly extract who did what, when, where and under what conditions, and fuses that data intelligently with the familiar tabular data found in relational databases. This process enables users to view their data in a truly holistic manner – information from an organization's structured and unstructured sources – affording them more comprehensive and actionable information for analysis and decision-making.

Attensity was previously honored by KMWorld as a Trend-Setter for Attensity Workstation in 2005, and Attensity Server in 2004. Past Trend-Setters are viewable in archived issues online at www.kmworld.com/Archives/.
