Press ReleaseAttensity and SRD Announce PartnershipSeptember 16, 2002, Las Vegas, Nevada -- Systems Research & Development (SRD), the global leader in relationship awareness technology, and Attensity Corporation, the premier developer of robust text extraction technology, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership leveraging the best-of-breed capabilities of both companies. The Attensity/SRD partnership includes a joint marketing and selling arrangement, as well as a pre-packaged API that integrates Attensity's Malta Server text data interface with SRD's NORA (Non-Obvious Relationship Awareness) system. The solution will be immediately available to clients in both the commercial and government sectors. The partnership will result in the world's most powerful and complete out-of-the-box solution for link analysis, loss prevention, and advanced intelligence analytics. Clients will be able to use summarized information from unstructured text fields to identify relationships, trends, and customer needs. For example, customer comments within call center data could be analyzed to identify marketing opportunities, fraudulent activities, product quality issues, or customer service concerns. Executives of both companies explained that Malta Server and NORA naturally complement one another. "The Malta Server's ability to automatically extract key events and their contextual attributes from unstructured text, and then feed that information into SRD's NORA product produces a highly versatile, real-time system capable of delivering perpetual analytics and robust data management functionality," said John Slitz, CEO of SRD. He added that the combination of Attensity and SRD products represents the first such unified product suite of its kind on the market. Todd Wakefield, co-founder and president of Attensity explained, "By using Malta Server to feed unstructured as well as structured information directly into NORA, I believe Attensity and SRD have introduced one of the most powerful analytic threat detection systems ever created." Attensity and SRD are both In-Q-Tel portfolio companies. In-Q-Tel, a private not-for-profit venture group funded by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, has a mission to identify and invest in companies developing cutting-edge information technologies that serve United States national security interests.
