Press ReleaseAttensity 4 Integrates Text Search into Text Analytics Suite; Users Can Test and Validate Hypotheses Using Deep Text AnalyticsPALO ALTO, Calif., September 25, 2006 - Attensity™, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today announced the addition of search capabilities to Attensity 4, its new suite for extracting facts from unstructured data. Attensity Text Search enables users to rapidly filter their datasets before unleashing the linguistic-based tools of Attensity for conducting deeper analysis. Users can derive faster insights into the facts - the "who," "what," "where," "when," "how," and "under what conditions" - that reside in the text resulting from a search. For example, a user might hypothesize that a certain issue is starting to emerge in the business and use Attensity Text Search to determine if that issue is mentioned in service repair notes or claims forms. Once the results are returned, users can further hone in on the hypothesis by querying all of the behaviors or issues discussed in the documents that contain the keyword or phrase originally used for the search. Attensity Text Search employs the intelligent search algorithms of Globalbrain™, licensed from Brainware, Inc., of Dulles, Virginia. "Attensity 4 combines the power of Text Analytics with Brainware's sophisticated search and retrieval capabilities," said Craig Norris, Attensity's chief executive officer. "Attensity Text Search is an excellent tool for managers, analysts and investigators who want to explore hunches without wasting time or resources." Attensity 4's Text Search application allows users to:
Keywords are tagged in unstructured data as it flows through Attensity's extraction engine. The entire process is embedded in the application, which eliminates costly set-up, implementation and update processes. Additional information about Brainware is available at www.brainware.com.) Availability It has been estimated that more than 85 percent of all business information exists as unstructured data - everything from customer emails to service notes to surveillance reports. According to IDC's October 2005 report "Text Mining: Mining for Gold in Unstructured Information" (#CA1503SWD), the worldwide market for natural language understanding software products, which includes Text Analytics, is estimated to reach $1.84 billion by 2008.
