CRAIG D. NORRIS
Chief Executive Officer

Craig is a high technology industry veteran with over 20 years of front line experience leading profitable organizations in the areas of strategy, operations and sales. He has served as chairman, CEO or COO of both private and public organizations, including Ion Systems, Workexchange Technologies and Connectinc.com. Craig has successfully navigated start-ups and early stage companies to IPO's and other significant funding events, and has been continuously engaged with the completion of major sales to Fortune 500 organizations. Craig also brings to Attensity a strong management consulting and systems integration background, having been a regional vice president for leading international consulting firm CAP Gemini America. Craig graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. degree in economics from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN and holds an MBA from Fairleigh Dickenson University, Rutherford, NJ.


DAVID L. BEAN, PhD
Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Bean is a co-founder of Attensity and serves as its CTO. His background includes a BA in French and Arabic from the University of Utah, an MS in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Utah. His PhD work focused on natural language processing issues including partial parsing, thematic role assignment, automated extraction and anaphora resolution. He has additional interest and graduate study in medical informatics, embedded systems, databases and object oriented languages. Dr. Bean is the inventor on five and has over sixteen pending software patents. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the University of Utah's Linguistics Department, where he teaches applied computational linguistics. On the topic of language-focused computing, Dr. Bean has been a guest lecturer to a wide range of commercial and academic groups, but he also lectures at his local elementary school where he likes to introduce young minds to astronomy, physics and other cool science things. Prior to Attensity, Dr. Bean was an IS director, an electronic billing coordinator and an independent consultant in the healthcare industry. In addition to his technical interests, Dr. Bean has a healthy fascination with antique tractors, metal fabrication, machine tools and generally anything mechanical. His current project collection includes four Farmall tractors dating back to 1940, and he is a certified professional welder. Similarly afflicted individuals are welcome to share their wrench-turning stories with him.


MICHELLE de HAAFF
VP of Products and Marketing

Michelle has had a successful career in managing marketing and branding strategies for large corporations as well as start-up companies. Michelle came to Attensity from CoolSign Media, where as vice president of marketing and product management she developed programs that helped in more than doubling the company's revenue in just six months. Prior to CoolSign, Michelle spent almost five years at Blue Martini Software, where she led the product management efforts on a company-wide basis and was the general manager of the consumer business unit which generated over half of Blue Martini's revenue. Previously, Michelle led the eCommerce and database marketing teams at Levi Strauss & Company and worked at Ernst & Young where she was a CRM practice manager and served clients such as Apple Computer, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard and Xerox Corporation. Michelle graduated magna cum laude from New York University with a B.S. degree in management operations and marketing. She holds an M.S. degree in integrated marketing from Northwestern University.


BOB HOWELLS
Chief Financial Officer

Bob Howells has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. Prior to Attensity, he spent nine years with Entegrity Solutions, where he successfully raised more than $50 million in funding, in addition to negotiating the acquisition of five companies. Prior to Entegrity, he was vice president and general manager of the Global Services Division at Pyramid Technology, where he was responsible for four principal business units generating more than $70 million in revenue from domestic and international operations. Bob also spent over 11 years at National Advanced Systems (NAS) where he held several executive-level financial and sales positions both in Europe and the US. While at NAS he was responsible for all worldwide field sales, support and service operations with an annual sales budget in excess of $1.1 billion and an operating budget of $200 million. Bob received a B.S. degree in accounting from Arizona State University.


JEFF JOHNSON
VP of Enterprise Sales

Jeff Johnson brings to Attensity over 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the software industry. As Vice President of Enterprise Sales, Jeff is responsible for forging new customer relationships with enterprise companies deploying and managing Text Analytics solutions. Jeff joins Attensity from Business Signatures, acquired by Entrust in 2006, a Silicon Valley start-up which pioneered business solutions that prevent online fraud and provide a reliable online customer experience. Prior to Business Signatures Jeff was VP of Sales at Tealeaf Technology and Luminate Corporation. At Luminate Jeff led worldwide sales and was also responsible for worldwide sales operations, professional services and field marketing. Prior to Luminate, Jeff was Vice President of Sales at Poet Software where he designed and implemented the company's major sales channel in the U.S. and managed the sales effort that increased company revenues several fold, a record of achievement which contributed to Poet's successful IPO in 1999. Prior to Poet, Jeff successfully managed world-class sales teams at leading technology companies, including Lotus Development, Oracle and Wang Laboratories. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University.


MIKE LEWIS
VP of Government Systems

Throughout his 20-year career, Mike has been honored many times for his outstanding sales and account management. Mike came to Attensity from Microsoft, where he was the enterprise account manager for CIA and NRO. He previously was an account manager at Digital Equipment Corporation and at Lucent, where he was recognized as 2001's top sales manager for Mid-Atlantic Emerging Service Providers, and also directed R&D sales to major government classified customers. Earlier in his career, Mike managed multiple software development teams at Micro Research Industries and Unisys Corporation. Mike also co-founded two software development companies: Orion Information Systems, which developed Congressional constituent contact management systems and document imaging software for government agencies; and Stuart, McCormack & Associates, which developed disease management software for the University of Southern California and Walter Reed Army Hospital. Mike has a B.S. in computer science from West Virginia University and an active TS/SCI security clearance.


JIM PERRY
VP of Engineering

Jim Perry has more than 15 years of experience designing software and managing teams to deliver award-winning products. In addition to founding Perrypoint Venture Advisors, Jim has previously worked for NextPage, TenFold Corporation, Folio Corporation and WordPerfect Corporation. Most recently, he was Director of Software Development at MyFamily.com, where he led several projects managing many terabytes of unstructured genealogical and family history data for the world's largest online subscription service. He was named one of Utah's top 100 venture entrepreneurs in 2005 by VSpring Capital. Jim currently serves on the board of directors for UTOPIA (Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency) as well as the Lone Peak Public Safety District. Jim graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Computer Science. He is active with local government and in 2003 was elected to the City Council for the City of Cedar Hills. Jim enjoys digital video production, bonsai trees, and motorcycles as well as spending time with his family.


VAUGHN PETERSON
VP of Business Development

While at Attensity, Vaughn has served in a variety of roles and was instrumental in Attensity's initial penetration into the commercial marketplace. He came to Attensity from TenFold Corporation where he was a senior vice president with responsibility for organization development and human resources. Prior to TenFold, Vaughn was founder and principal of The DELOC Group, a management consulting firm focused on strategy, organization effectiveness and leadership development. Before founding the DELOC Group, he spent ten years at Nortel Networks where he served in several executive positions including vice president, organization development and vice president of human resources for the Asia Pacific Region while based in Hong Kong. Vaughn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, and a Master of Organizational Behavior degree from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.


ERIC WEIGHT
VP of Customer Solutions

As VP of Customer Solutions at Attensity, Eric is charged with helping customers to see the real-world benefits of text analytics for their individual companies and works with leading insurance and consumer companies to analyze their unstructured data everyday. Eric started his career as an engineer at SoftSolutions, a document management company. From there, he joined Deloitte & Touche where he led large scale IT projects. Eric also led Novell's NetWare's product line and successfully launched their small business initiative. He was a Managing Partner at Blain Olsen White Gurr, a high-tech marketing and advertising agency, where he led their Web Marketing Services business for consumer companies. Eric serves as an adjunct instructor in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University where he teaches a class on Integrated Marketing Communications and Promotion Management. Eric holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Brigham Young University, and an MBA in Marketing from Indiana University.
