Attensity Releases Attensity Analytics 2.0 with New Features and Improved Interface for Investigating Facts Extracted from Freeform Text
Browser-based Software Now Available as a Hosted or Installed Application

PALO ALTO, Calif., March 6, 2006 - Attensity, the innovator in Text Analytics software solutions, today released Attensity Analytics 2.0™, the second major version of its application for investigating facts and relationships mined from freeform text through its Exhaustive Extraction™ engine. The company also announced its inclusion to KMWorld magazine's 2006 list of "100 Companies that Matter."

Attensity Analytics 2.0 includes a completely redesigned interface for drilling down and visualizing unstructured data in combination with the structured data that organizations already store in spreadsheets, databases, and business intelligence applications. It leverages Attensity's patented Exhaustive Extraction™ engine, which automatically and rapidly extracts unstructured data into rows and columns for analysis.

"Rather than spending weeks or months attempting to articulate what they're looking for, customers can use Attensity Analytics 2.0 to focus on whatever facts jump out from the exhaustive extraction of text automatically compiled for them," said Craig D. Norris, Attensity's chief executive officer. "Thanks to a variety of application enhancements, users don't need a knowledge engineering background to find facts, track trends, or discover dangers or opportunities in their companies' unstructured data."

Within the application, users now can create and share queries, or reports, directly from the application to save time and improve collaboration. The program can quickly count the frequency of a particular issue revealed right in the text, which can then be sorted into categories for analysis.

The user interface for Attensity Analytics 2.0 has been completely redesigned. The application is available as a hosted or installed application, and now includes support for the Teradata platform in addition to other platforms and databases already released.

With a new "fact co-occurrence" feature, users in the application's growing corporate and government customer base can find facts that identify an issue with a group of customers and then search for other facts occurring within that group. This allows users to delve deeper into their business issues to understand root causes typically hidden in customer service and repair notes, emails, feedback surveys, and other text-based sources.

"Analytic applications that hope to leverage 'business intelligence' have always suffered from two crucial bottlenecks - one at the front end where data is rationalized for analysis and one at the back end where business people are trying to discover new problems or find creative answers," said Hadley Reynolds, vice president and director of research at Delphi Group. "The latest Attensity release helps address both the front-end difficulty of analyzing narrative text and, perhaps more dramatically, the flexibility and speed of the new discovery interface for business users."

There are numerous levels of complexity in text extraction, each of which supports different types of application tasks. Attensity's technology supports the widest range of extraction capabilities available, including both targeted extraction and Exhaustive Extraction.

The Attensity Analytics 2.0 application can be used in any number of industries for any number of applications. Insurance analysts can mine claims forms and supporting documents for specific types of issues and trends that can impact payout and reserves. Intelligence analysts can locate specific relationships among people connected to a terrorist threat. A marketing manager can analyze customer feedback aggregated from thousands of emails, surveys and online forums.

Attensity Analytics 2.0, as well as the recently released Attensity Discover 3.0 application, can be purchased directly through Attensity. Additionally, Teradata or IBM sales representatives can discuss comprehensive analytic solutions that integrate Attensity's technology into data management and business intelligence systems.

Attensity Corporation's selection as one of KMWorld's "100 Companies that Matter" for 2006 will be published in the March issue of KMWorld magazine, the leading information provider serving the knowledge management systems market, as well as online at http://www.kmworld.com.
