Prominent Industry and High-Tech Veterans Also Added to Attensity Board of Directors
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 6, 2007 - Attensity™, the leader in text analytics software for business intelligence, today announced that Colonel Carl R. Baker, an expert in law enforcement who recently retired from his position as chief of Virginia's Chesterfield County Police Department (CCPD), will join the company's government advisory board. Col. Baker's distinguished career includes service with the Army Corps of Engineers and Military Police, leadership roles in the New York and Virginia State Police organizations, and service as the deputy secretary of public safety for the Governor of Virginia.
"I'm pleased to join Attensity's very talented government advisory board," Col. Baker said. "The members of the board have impressed me with the range and depth of their insights into the federal government and military matters. I'm eager to offer my experience and knowledge in law enforcement as well as my experience with Attensity software."
Attensity LEADS, recently licensed by CCPD, enables their agents to access, analyze and organize data from freeform text – unstructured information stored in police reports, FBI reports, interaction logs, legal or case documents, and public information – to identify, investigate and impede criminal activity.
"Col. Baker's distinguished history in public service and law enforcement offers Attensity key insights into this critical market," Craig Norris, Attensity's CEO, said. "He understands the needs of those on the front line as much as those in the back office, and we're grateful to have him on the team."
Additionally, Attensity is adding two prominent industry and high-tech veterans to the board of directors: Vice-Admiral E.A. Burkhalter, Jr., U.S. Navy (Ret.) and Ronald F.E. Weissman, Ph.D.

W. Bush. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and has been decorated by King Olaf of Norway. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navel Academy with a B.S. degree in engineering.
